Calling everyone in the Wichita music scene: The city wants your input

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The music scene in Wichita is big, but disconnected, so a new survey is trying to change that.

The Wichita Music Census is a 10-minute questionnaire for people 18 and older who participate in the city’s “music ecosystem.” This includes performers, music industry professionals, venue owners and support service providers.

“Full-time, part-time, paid, volunteer in Wichita’s music scene, we want to hear from them, so that we can really get as good data as possible on everything that’s happening here in the city,” said Jesse Koza, Wichita’s cultural arts administrator.

He said this will help make a list of all of the performances, bands and venues in Wichita. Censuses are being conducted in communities across the state so results will also open opportunities for musicians in other cities…
