BOSTON (WWLP) – A Quincy man with a history of bank robbery convictions has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a Weymouth bank at gunpoint in 2024.
According to federal prosecutors, the robbery occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on December 17, 2024, at a Santander Bank branch in Weymouth. Glenn Legere, 47, entered the bank as employees were preparing to close for the day.

Wearing a sweatshirt, baseball cap, face covering, and gloves, he reportedly approached a teller window, displayed a black firearm, and demanded money while holding open a black cloth bag.
The teller handed over cash from a drawer while Legere repeatedly demanded more money and pointed the firearm at bank employees. He left the bank with approximately $947.
A review of surveillance footage from nearby locations led investigators to a silver or gray Jeep Grand Cherokee seen traveling to and from the bank around the time of the robbery. The vehicle was later determined to be registered to Legere…
