East Charlotte police activity believed to have stemmed from a domestic violence call: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Residents at an east Charlotte apartment complex were being evacuated Wednesday as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police conducted an active investigation.

Around 11:15 a.m., CMPD reported increased police activity in the 1500 block of Kelston Place. They said the original call appears to be domestic violence-related.

As of 2 p.m., the police activity in the area had concluded. “CMPD appreciates the public’s patience during the increased police presence,” a spokesperson said.

Police urged residents and drivers to avoid the area while officers continued their work…
