KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Court documents allege that the caretaker charged in the death of a 3-month-old did not immediately seek help when she discovered that the baby was unresponsive. Instead, she is accused of tampering with evidence and fleeing the scene.
Tonette Sigsbee, 33, was arraigned Monday on felony charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence related to the death of Brooklyn Jackson last year in Kalamazoo.
Officers found Brooklyn “unresponsive” at a home on Heatherdowns Lane near Glencoe Court in November. The Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the child’s death a homicide on March 24.
