CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — It’s a busy weekend across the Charlotte area as residents prepare for the nation’s 250th birthday. Some cities are celebrating early with parades, concerts, and of course, fireworks.
If you prefer to wait for the actual holiday, there are plenty of other things to get into. From a weekend-long homestand for the Charlotte Knights to World Cup watch parties to stand-up comedy at the Spectrum Center–there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

World Cup Watch Parties – USA v Turkiye
Bars and brewers across Charlotte will be showing 2026 FIFA World Cup matches. The USMNT is hot right now, having won its first two matches. The USMNT will face off against Turkiye on Thursday, June 25, at Los Angeles Stadium.
