Power outage hits downtown Asheville; cause currently unknown

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A power outage hit downtown Asheville on Thursday afternoon, leaving nearly 1,000 customers without power, according to Duke Energy.

The outage has primarily impacted the downtown area’s business district. Parts of Coxe Avenue, Patton Avenue, Hilliard Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Church Street, Asheland Avenue, South French Broad Avenue and other nearby roads were without power, per Duke Energy’s outage map.
