ODOT confirms southbound I-475 shutdown for weekend

The Ohio Department of Transportation confirmed Thursday that southbound I-475/U.S. 23 will be closed south of U.S. 24 in Maumee this weekend for the fourth and, according to plan, final time.

The freeway will shut down between 8 and 9 p.m. Friday and is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday. During that time, spokesman Kelsie Hoagland said, the southbound left lane will be ground down by 4 inches and then repaved up to an intermediate layer.

Traffic will be able to enter the southbound right lane from State Rt. 25 in Perrysburg to reach I-75. ODOT has urged through traffic on southbound U.S. 23 to take eastbound I-475 from Sylvania Township to I-75.
