Witness refutes claim by author of airport takeover bill that Southwest left Jackson over bad management

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Three witnesses testified Thursday in a trial that will determine whether the state can establish a new board to control Jackson’s airport and remove that authority from the city.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs called Bobby Morgan as a hostile witness.

Morgan, who serves as vice president for the Mississippi division of Atmos Energy, worked as a liaison in former Gov. Phil Bryant’s office while Senate Bill 2162 was being drafted…
