Two Wisconsinites federally charged in DOJ health care fraud takedown

(WFRV) — Two Wisconsin residents were charged in the DOJ’s “national health care fraud takedown” for a multi-million dollar Medicaid fraud scheme and prescription drug diversion conspiracy, respectively.

According to a press release, the first charge was brought against a 37-year-old resident of Brown Deer, WI. She was charged by information with health care fraud and aggravated identity theft in connection with a scheme to defraud Wisconsin Medicaid.

The Brown Deer resident was put in charge of a prenatal care coordination agency (PNCC) to help at-risk pregnant women and women with children. For three years, between 2019 and 2022, she submitted thousands of false claims regarding the “much-needed” services her company provided, which customers never received.
