Wichita Open tees off with rain, possible storms in forecast

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Open is teeing off at Crestview Country Club, facing the possibility of interruptions with storm chances in the forecast.

Rain won’t stop the tournament, but lightning will require everyone to leave the course. Fans heading to the tournament were advised to dress for wet weather, but as long as there’s no safety risk, play will continue.

Ahead of the Wichita Open, tournament director Dusty Buell said the course has already been evacuated twice this week because of lightning. He said that if certain weather patterns persist, a third evacuation could be necessary…
