Madison County mulls future of historic courthouse as plans move forward for new building

MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Madison County is moving forward with plans for a new courthouse, while the future of Marshall’s historic courthouse remains undecided.

Built in 1907, the courthouse has long served as a centerpiece of downtown Marshall. Helene damaged the building heavily, so it has remained closed since the storm.
