CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man making threats to harm himself has been arrested after running from police, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte says.
Around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, officials say a person was asked to leave the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Light Rail due to “unruly behavior”. When police approached him in Lot 25 on the UNC Charlotte campus, the man threatened to hurt himself with a small pocket knife.
He then dropped the knife and ran off on foot, according to authorities. The man was tackled with a campus camera and chased by officers. The man was then arrested just off campus on Lex Drive, a residential area. He did not have any other weapons.
