POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 50-year-old nurse employed at the South County Jail is facing felony charges after a routine traffic stop led to his arrest for drug possession on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
David Lindsay Pohl of Winter Haven was pulled over by Winter Haven Police Department officers who noticed his vehicle had what appeared to be illegal window tint. According to police, Pohl had also failed to stop at two separate stop signs before being pulled over.
During the interaction, officers observed Pohl attempting to wipe a white substance off his pants. Investigators also reported seeing a white, rock-like substance sitting directly on the driver’s seat. A field test of the material returned a positive result for cocaine…
