Texas beats out Miami for elite South Florida QB in major 2028 recruiting win

Texas landed one of South Florida’s best young quarterbacks Thursday when four-star Neimann Lawrence committed to the Longhorns over Miami, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Michigan.

Lawrence is a 2028 prospect from American Heritage in Plantation, Florida, who spent his sophomore season at Miami Northwestern. The 6-foot-1 quarterback gives Steve Sarkisian his first commitment in the 2028 class and gives Texas an early building block at the most important position in the sport.
