City of Pensacola starts $9.5 million Fricker Center project

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – The city of Pensacola held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday to mark the start of a $9.5 million renovation of the Fricker Resource Center, a westside community facility that has been in operation for nearly 70 years.

Construction to tear down the current building began earlier this month. Senior programs were relocated to the Bayview Senior Center last month ahead of demolition.
