IRVINE, CA — Following community feedback regarding e-bike activity at Grijalva Park, law enforcement motor officers with the Irivne Police Department have increased their presence in the area to address illegal and unsafe riding behavior. During a recent enforcement operation, an e-bike rider attempted to evade a traffic stop by fleeing from a motor officer. The rider’s attempt to escape was unsuccessful and concluded shortly after it began.
Law enforcement officials stated that riders must comply with traffic regulations and stop when signaled by an officer. Following the conclusion of the incident, the individual was cited for a total of nine separate violations. In addition to the citations issued, the operator’s motorcycle was impounded by authorities.
