JACKSON — A Mississippi missing persons advocacy group is asking for the public’s help reconnecting a homeless Mississippi man with his family after learning he is seriously ill and stranded in Florida.
According to a Facebook post by MissingSippi: Mississippi Missing Persons, a person working in the Delray Beach, Florida, area recently contacted the organization after meeting Willie Griffin III, a Mississippi native.
The group said Griffin, 57, has diabetes and cancer and has been living on the streets in Florida for the past several months. He reportedly told the individual assisting him that he wants to return home to Mississippi but is unable to do so after his backpack, identification documents and cell phone were stolen…
