ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a fatal crash involving an unidentified bicyclist that occurred on Thursday, June 25.
According to the LSP, the crash occurred on Interstate 10 West near the Interstate 310 South split in St. Charles Parish around 8:30 p.m.
The bicyclist was traveling west on the right shoulder of I-10, heading toward the I-310 South on-ramp, while a 2023 Dodge Ram moving westbound on I-10 was trying to get onto the I-310 South on-ramp. For reasons still under investigation, the bicyclist attempted to cross the southbound travel lanes of I-310 toward the I-10 gore area and was hit by the Dodge in the left lane.
