Jury deadlocks in trial over fatal French Quarter mass shooting after two days of deliberation

A New Orleans jury failed to reach a verdict Thursday after two days of testimony in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a woman during a mass shooting in the French Quarter.

The panel of eight women and four men deliberated for nearly three hours before ending deadlocked over whether Daniel Miorana was one of three masked gunmen seen on surveillance video opening fire just after noon on Nov. 21, 2024 in the 700 block of Iberville Street.
