3-vehicle crash near Tea caused temporary I-29 closure

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Interstate 29 was temporarily closed Friday morning due to a three vehicle crash five miles southeast of Tea, SD.

According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the driver of a 2012 Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound on I-29 and checking a navigation route on his phone when he noticed a semi in front of him was stopped.

Attempting to avoid a crash, the driver clipped the rear of the semi and then struck the back of a 2006 Chevy Impala…
