The period of summer when roads are closed for days, rubber cobblestone rugs are placed on streets and dozens of extras are decked in lavish period costumes has come to a close. On Friday, “The Gilded Age” finished filming in the Capital Region.

Friday’s shoot was in Schenectady’s Stockade District, which has become a favored filming location of the HBO Max period drama. The Emmy-winning series follows the inner lives of the upper class during the Gilded Age. It premiered in 2022 and has filmed in the Capital Region for all four seasons.
