Motorhome fire near Jamul sparks brush fire, one hospitalized

JAMUL, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A motorhome caught fire in eastern San Diego County and spread to some brush, prompting a response from firefighters and firefighting planes Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded at 10 a.m. to calls for a structure fire that turned into a vegetation fire in a rural neighborhood in the 3200 block of Beaver Hollow Road about five miles east of Jamul, according to Cal Fire.

Dozens of firefighters and firefighting aircrafts were working together to douse the flames that started in a motorhome/RV. Black smoke could be seen drifting from a nearby AlertCalifornia camera.

Cal Fire reported one person was taken to the hospital for injuries, but their condition is unknown at this time.
