Several Montgomery County Roads Face Months of Lane Restrictions

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Drivers across Montgomery County should prepare for a mix of short-term paving operations and long-term weekday lane restrictions as PennDOT continues resurfacing and roadway safety projects through the summer and fall.

According to PennDOT, the following restrictions are scheduled:

  • Game Farm Road: Lane closures with flagging will be in place between Neiffer Road and Route 29 (Main Street) in Limerick and Lower Frederick townships and Schwenksville Borough from Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for paving.
  • Route 113 (Black Rock Road/Trappe Road): Overnight lane closures with flagging will be in place between South Trappe Road and Borough Line Road in Upper Providence Township from Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for milling, paving, and base repairs. Additional daytime lane closures for utility adjustments are scheduled from Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Route 23 (Valley Forge Road): Weekday lane closures with flagging will affect the roadway between Beidler Road and Mancill Mill Road in Upper Merion Township from Tuesday, July 7, through Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for high-friction surface treatment application.
  • Route 73 (Big Road): Weekday lane closures with flagging are scheduled between Hoffmanville Road and Church Road in New Hanover Township from Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, Oct. 23, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Fitzwatertown Road: Weekday lane closures with flagging will be in place between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Beachwood Road in Upper Moreland Township from Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, Oct. 23, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Limerick Road: Weekday lane closures with flagging are planned between Sofia Court and Pheasant Road in Limerick Township from Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, Oct. 23, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Route 29 (Main Street): Weekday lane closures with flagging will affect the roadway between East Park Avenue and Walnut Street in Schwenksville Borough from Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, Oct. 30, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

No detours have been announced, but motorists should expect delays as traffic is periodically directed through active work zones. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible, especially during daytime work hours and overnight paving operations.

PennDOT said the projects are part of ongoing efforts to repair, mill, and repave state highways while applying high-friction surface treatments designed to improve roadway safety and provide smoother driving conditions.
