Basket social offers wide variety of items at Werley’s Corners

A dizzying number of cellophane wrapped baskets lured friends and neighbors to browse, purchase a ticket and take a chance on winning the one of their choice at the Weisenberg/Lowhill Historical Society the last week of May.

“A lot of people like the home-oriented things,” Debbie Zvanut said. “Home goods are very important. But we also have a lot of baskets for kids, and we do like to have holiday baskets as well.”

The social featured “171 regulars and 38 specials,” according to Zvanut. “The specials are in the back and are priced higher. In the specials category, there are many handcrafted items.”…
