KENNER, La. (WGNO) — A Lafayette chef took home the crown at the 19th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off (LASCO) on Friday, June 26.
Chef Kris Allen, of Pamplona Tapas Bar and Restaurant, prepared a crab-stuffed flounder to win the competition. The dish highlighted his creativity, putting the quality of Louisiana seafood on full display.
The Southwest Louisiana native discovered his affinity for food at a young age as he spent hours surrounded by food, whether it was on his father’s shrimp boat or in the kitchen with his grandmother.
