U.S. Coast Guard Charleston watchstanders assist in rescue near Lazaretto Creek in Georgia

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – U.S. Coast Guard Southeast crews rescued a mariner who needed medical attention aboard a beached 40 -foot houseboat near the entrance to Lazaretto Creek, Georgia, on Sunday.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, Sector Charleston watchstanders were notified of a grounded vessel with two passengers and two dogs aboard.

Station Tybee boat crew responded to the incident; however, before the crews arrived, one passenger and the two dogs were brought ashore by a passing boater.
