COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — As Central Ohio braces for days of dangerous heat, health officials are warning that heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses can come on quickly — or develop gradually as the extreme temperatures drag on.
The Central Ohio heat index is expected to reach the triple digits this week, starting Tuesday and lasting through the weekend. The prolonged heat brings risks of heat-related illness that can range from uncomfortable and unhealthy to deadly.
