Murray Bros. Caddyshack, an iconic restaurant and entertainment destination headlining World Golf Village in the Jacksonville area is closing permanently 25 years after being founded by actor Billy Murray and his brothers.
Regarded as a “legendary” dining spot, Murray Bros. Caddyshack planned to shut its doors at the close of business Saturday, June 27. Andy Murray announced the closure in a mid-morning Facebook post, thanking customers for their “love and support. We’ve had 25 wonderful years here at the World Golf Village, but it is now time to slip away.”
Murray also invited people to “come in and have a drink” before it was last call for the restaurant. No reason for the closure was given in the Facebook post.
The restaurant’s food service license was listed as “delinquent, active” with an expiration date of June 1, according to Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation online records. An employee who answered Caddyshack’s telephone mid-afternoon June 27 confirmed the planned closure to the Times-Union but said no managers were available immediately for comment.
