ROCHESTER, N.Y. — M&T Bank and the Rochester Education Foundation wrapped up their 17th annual instrument donation drive on the final day of the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
The partnership between M&T Bank and the Rochester Education Foundation has collected more than 4,200 instruments over the years. Those instruments have been distributed to students in the Rochester City School District, and many remain in use today.
“Most students don’t have the opportunity to have an instrument or to learn how to play,” said Steve Epping, M&T Bank regional president. “So this is an opportunity to give them an exposure to something that they may not.”…
