A San Antonio-born Latina fashion designer and her family are now in the pages of a world-renowned fashion magazine. Vogue’s latest 2026 summer issue puts a special spotlight on the diversity and rich culture of the Lone Star State.
Austin-based designer Daizy López is one of several Texans who were featured in the summer issue, which set out to document the beauty of the state in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. López was photographed cradling her four-month-old daughter, Nova, alongside her fiancé, Francisco Rosales, and 3-year-old son, Diego, representing a modern Mexican-American family.
“It was really an honor to represent Latino, Mexican American families in something as big as Vogue,” Lopez told MySA. “When you think of Vogue, it’s like, celebrities, and high-end fashion designers, and things like that, but this issue is very much more about real people in real roles, real spaces that they take up, here in the area.”
Vogue Fashion Editor Carlos Nazario and Photographer Tyler Mitchell embarked on a road trip across Texas this spring to showcase the modern communities and characters that embody the nation’s evolving identity.
