High fire danger and hazy conditions for the week

TODAY: An upper level trough of low pressure is hovering over the northern Rocky mountains. Although Southern Colorado is under high pressure and hot temperatures that low is causing gusty conditions. Wind gusts are around 20-30 mph with 40 mph gusts at times. Add in the dry conditions and we have high fire danger and RED FLAG WARNINGS until 10 pm. Colorado Springs is staying in the low 90s with Pueblo getting up to 98.

OF NOTE: Two new large fires have broken out across western Colorado/Eastern Utah. We are expecting heavy smoke to develop later to today across the I-70 corridor and north to Denver…
