56-year-old Pottstown man dead after crashing into tree in Berks County: coroner

BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — One person died after crashing into a tree early Saturday in Amity Township, according to the police.

Shortly after 6 a.m., patrol officers were called to the 1800 block of Old Swede Road after a car crash left one person trapped in their vehicle. At the scene, the police found the car had crashed into a tree.

The driver, identified by the Berks County Coroner’s Office as a 56-year-old man, was rescued from the car by rescue officials and rushed to Reading Hospital, where they ultimately died as a result of their injuries…
