Sellersville man accused of threatening to kill officers, spitting on police after retail theft arrest

A Sellersville man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after Perkasie Borough police allege he threatened to kill store employees and police officers, assaulted an officer by spitting on him and vandalized a holding cell following his arrest earlier this month.

Howard Joel Boland, 58, of the 400 block of East Park Avenue, was charged this month by Perkasie Borough Police with felony assault of a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor institutional vandalism, misdemeanor indecent exposure, three counts of misdemeanor harassment, summary public drunkenness, three counts of summary disorderly conduct and summary retail theft, according to court documents.

Police were dispatched around 12:19 p.m. June 15. 2026 to Village Market, 300 S. Main St. in Sellersville, for a report of a disorderly intoxicated man harassing customers.
