- Elon Musk shares awkward story about ‘bratty’ son Saxon demanding a burger in a sushi restaurant (irishstar.com)
Elon Musk recently shared a humorous tale about his son Saxon ordering a cheeseburger at a highly traditional sushi restaurant, leaving the waiter momentarily speechless.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO recounted the story during a podcast episode with Katie Miller, a former aide at Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency and spouse of former Trump adviser Stephen Miller. The lunch took place at Sugarfish Sushi in Los Angeles, a restaurant known for its strict adherence to classic sushi preparation, with a menu that even advises diners not to ask for soy sauce as the chef applies the perfect amount.
Musk described how, while dining with his older boys, the waiter was going around taking orders when it came to Saxon. Instead of choosing from the carefully curated sushi options, Saxon confidently requested a cheeseburger-a menu item the restaurant does not offer.
The waiter was visibly stunned, taking about 30 seconds to process the unusual request before explaining that they didn’t serve cheeseburgers. Saxon then loudly insisted, “What?
Like, what kind of restaurant doesn’t have cheeseburgers?” before settling on a hamburger.
Musk’s son Saxon, born in 2006 during Musk’s first marriage to Canadian author Justine Wilson, is one of five children from that marriage. Musk has a total of 14 children with four different women, including three with singer Grimes. While it’s unclear exactly how old Saxon was at the time of this sushi outing-Musk moved from Los Angeles to Texas in 2020-the story is a familiar one for many parents with picky eaters or kids who insist on particular foods.
The anecdote has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some critics calling Saxon spoiled or out of touch, while others defended him, noting that asking for a cheeseburger is hardly unusual for a child at a restaurant.
Musk has shared this story multiple times, including on his X social media platform, where he also mentioned that Saxon often surprises waiters by ordering milk at restaurants. The billionaire described Saxon’s cheeseburger request as “unironically” made, underscoring the boy’s straightforward approach to dining even in a place with strict culinary traditions.
