Community volunteers with the Marshall Area Conservation Corps have planted more than 250 trees this spring.
The tree-planting activities included species such as black gum, serviceberry, buckeye, hornbeam, hawthorn, as well as various oaks and tamaracks, according to a community announcement.
The annual Greening of Marshall event took place at the end of April, where around 100 volunteers collaborated with the Marshall’s Department of Public Works and the City of Marshall Tree Committee. During this event, participants planted 100 trees, aiming to diversify the city’s canopy.
