KALAMAZOO, Mich. — July is Disability Pride Month, and this year, one local organization is launching a new campaign to support the cause.
The Disability Network of Southwest Michigan calls their campaign the “D-Word,” and says more than one in four U.S. adults live with a disability.

The organization held their yearly ADA celebration at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market Friday.
“It’s important to celebrate, first and foremost, for the existence. The existence of the ADA provides protections for individuals with disabilities,” Kelley Kellis, president and CEO of the Disability Network of Southwest Michigan, said. “Diversity and disability is a part of the human diversity of life, and people deserve to live and thrive without being inhibited.”…
