Schenectady CSD appoints 2 new principals

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady City School District has announced the next principals of Mont Pleasant Middle School and Lincoln Elementary School. Mark Brooks and Clarisse Kaufman were appointed to their positions on June 24.

Mont Pleasant Middle School

Brooks, who began his career with Schenectady City Schools more than 20 years ago, currently serves as the interim principal of Mont Pleasant Middle School. He has also previously worked in administrative roles at Schuylerville Central School District, Broadalbin-Perth High School and Guilderland High School.

“As I have progressed throughout my career, there has not been a more rewarding job than working for the Schenectady City School District,” Brooks said when he returned to Schenectady CSD in February. “I am privileged to be back helping to serve the students, staff, and families.”

He is slated to transition to the permanent principal role on July 1, according to the district.

Lincoln Elementary School
