A rapidly spreading vegetation fire prompted a major firefighting response and the full closure of westbound Highway 60 in Moreno Valley on June 27, 2026.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:15 p.m. near Gilman Springs Road. When Cal Fire/Riverside County crews arrived, they found an estimated three to four acres burning at a moderate rate of spread toward nearby structures.
