People worked quickly to help businesses, some roads remain closed in Jessamine County

WILMORE, Ky. (WKYT) – Seven inches of rain over the weekend flooded businesses and swept away roads and bridges in Jessamine County, with several routes remaining closed Monday.

The Marketplace at Fitch’s Square, a grocery store along Main Street in Wilmore, took on water throughout nearly every aisle during Saturday’s storm.

“It was the worst flood that I have ever seen here in Wilmore, the 25 years I have been here,” said Tim Gibson, a co-owner of the longtime grocery.
