American Village film to air on Alabama Public Television ahead of nation’s 250th anniversary

MONTEVALLO – As the United States prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary this year, the American Village is bringing its original historical film, “Choosing to Be an American People,” to television audiences across Alabama.

The film will air on Alabama Public Television on Thursday, July 2, at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 4, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 5, at 2 p.m. Viewers can also watch the film through the Alabama Public Television website.

Originally envisioned by American Village founder Tom Walker, “Choosing to Be an American People” explores the decisions and ideals that shaped the United States while encouraging viewers to consider the responsibilities of citizenship today…
