The Napa estate once owned by “Two Buck Chuck” himself, Charles Shaw, has been sold at auction. Appropriately enough, the 42-plus-acre St. Helena property was a bargain at just over $10 million after first listing for more than three times that amount in 2024.
Listing agents Jamie Spratling and Kevin McDonald of Sotheby’s International Realty dropped the price of 1010 Big Tree Road — which has 29 acres of vineyards and a public tasting room, as well as eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms across the primary and guest homes — several times prior to auctioning it. The asking price fell from $35 million to $28 million in 2025 before hitting $19 million this year.
After the price cuts failed to produce a sale, the agents turned to the Sotheby’s home-auction partner, Concierge Auctions. The bidding kicked off last week with a $9 million offer, and it got international attention before closing Wednesday with a winning bid of $10.15 million.
The sale has not yet closed. Concierge declined to provide information on the buyer…
