Liberty County joins statewide Fourth of July traffic safety crackdown

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) – Drivers traveling during the Independence Day holiday can expect increased law enforcement patrols as the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office joins a statewide traffic safety campaign aimed at reducing crashes and saving lives.

The sheriff’s office is partnering with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for Operation Zero Tolerance, a statewide enforcement campaign running June 29 through July 5.

During the campaign, deputies will focus on enforcing laws related to:

  • Seat belt violations
  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • Impaired driving
  • Aggressive driving
