The National Weather Service announced on Monday, June 29, an extreme heat watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening for Monroe County. There is a possibility of dangerously hot conditions with heat index values exceeding 105 degrees. High temperatures may reach the mid 90s to near 100 degrees.
Several locations in the county are available to provide relief from the heat. Locations may have capacity restrictions. Before arriving to a site, it is suggested to call for hours and availability.
