Two arrests in early morning Opelousas shooting

OPELOUSAS, LA. (KLFY) — Two men were arrested following an early morning shooting in Opelousas, police said.

Following the investigation, police said they arrested two suspects, both of whom are residents of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and not residents of Opelousas.

Dwayne Carmouche, 36, of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Sexual Battery

Nelson Leday Jr., 44, of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:

  • Principal to Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Simple Battery
  • Sexual Battery
