Xavier Muhammad even more sold on becoming a Wolverine: “I just love Michigan”

Michigan entered Victors Weekend looking to strengthen its bond with one of the cornerstone pieces of its 2027 recruiting class. By the time South Houston (Tex.) defensive lineman Xavier Muhammad headed back home, the Wolverines appeared to have done exactly that, setting up a weekend that reinforced his commitment.

The four-star defensive lineman, who chose Michigan over several in-state powers and SEC programs earlier this spring, spent the weekend reconnecting with the coaching staff, building chemistry with fellow commits and envisioning his future in Ann Arbor. If there were any lingering doubts about his decision, they were nowhere to be found after his latest trip.

“Just the culture and everybody just welcoming me with open arms,” Muhammad said when asked what stood out most about the visit. “I just love Michigan. Taking pictures in the jersey, I’m imagining myself in the game, playing.”…
