KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -A woman was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike on North Peters Road just after midnight on June 21, and the driver did not stop, according to police.
Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the hit-and-run at 12:25 a.m. According to KPD, Brenda Marsh was riding eastbound in the left lane when an unknown sedan rear-ended her bicycle, ejecting her and causing multiple injuries. The driver fled the scene, leaving Marsh lying in the median.
Daughter speaks out
Angelina Terry, Marsh’s daughter, said the incident has been difficult to process. Terry was adopted by another family but said she and Marsh remain close.
“It just breaks my heart to think and just imagine her getting hit and lying in the road screaming for help the way that she was,” Terry said. “It just breaks my heart that this happened to her. You know, her life is completely changed now. It’s going to take a long time for her to recover.”
