Mobile County health officials warn of bacteria in coastal waters ahead of the holiday

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A warning from health officials as many people in the News 5 area get ready for some holiday fun in the water.

With the holiday weekend around the corner, there are a few things you should keep in mind if you plan on getting in the water.

“It’s found in brackish water,” Mobile County Health Department Health Officer Dr. Kevin Michaels said. “So, you know, what you see is sort of a skin infection.”
