Cooper Riverside Park to reopen for one day only on the 4th of July

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Cooper Riverside Park will open to the public Saturday for the Fourth of July for the first time in two years, offering residents an early look at the park’s ongoing $13 million renovation.

The park closed fully in January for the project. The city says most of the funding came from GOMESA grants through the state, with the remainder coming from city funds.

“This is a massive restoration of this area. It’s actually four projects in one,” said Jennifer Greene, director of programs and project management.
