CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WVLT) – For the first time ever, the only house in Tennessee designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright has hit the market.
The house sits atop Chattanooga’s Missionary Ridge, and the home’s listing outlines the details of the building. Wright designed it at the request of newlyweds Seamour and Gerte Shavin, and construction finished in 1952. Since then, Sotheby’s Realty says, it’s been maintained by the original family.
“Having spent nearly 20 years as a real estate photographer and photographed almost 8,000 homes across 16 states, I can honestly say this was the first time I truly felt as though I was walking through a piece of art and history while photographing it,” said Bruce McCamish. “Every room, every line, and every detail reminded me that this wasn’t simply a house—it was a masterpiece, thoughtfully designed and lovingly preserved for more than seven decades.
