Tuesday marks deadline for senior property tax freeze in St. Louis City, County

ST. LOUIS – Tuesday is the last day for senior homeowners in St. Louis city and county to apply for or renew a property tax freeze.

The program helps eligible senior homeowners freeze the city portion of their property taxes, limiting future increases. In St. Louis County, officials say wait times are expected to increase Tuesday, and appointments are limited for those who want to apply in person.

Meanwhile, in St. Charles County, leaders have extended the deadline until Monday, July 6, after an outage kept the online application portal from working for several days.
